Troika Photos was founded in July 2000 by Picture Editor Bridget Coaker and Photographer Michael Walter. Combining experience in Editorial and Fine Art, this small ambitious agency publishes both domestically and internationally, and specializes in large scale projects, most recently the new international terminal at St Pancras.
Alongside her work with Troika Bridget is also a picture editor on a national newspaper. Recently she curated the Hereford 2009 Photography Festival, which brought together her passions for photojournalism and Fine Art photography. Previously she was Head of Picture Syndication at the Press Association and before that the London Bureau Chief of Australian Consolidated Press. Read her blog here.
Michael has worked extensively in Former Yugoslavia during and after the civil war, in Sudan, Zambia, Libya, Chad and Iran and on commission for the Guardian in Iraq. Commissioned work has always been an important part of Troika's work. In particular the refurbishment of St Pancras gave Michael an opportunity to pursue his interest in bigger set piece pictures, which resulted in shooting advertisements for Eurostar. His Fine Art projects can be seen on his website.
Central to all we do is the belief in the value of pictures, whether it is supplying images for a client or shooting them speculatively for editorial. For our client work we offer both idea development and execution. Our network of photographers, with their diverse skills, gives us a great range of possibilities for making the best picture. We are always happy to discuss ideas so please get in touch.
Our newest venture is called Troika Editions, a new and exciting online gallery championing contemporary photography. Troika Editions showcases some of the most interesting contemporary British and European photographers. Regularly we present new carefully chosen images available as limited edition prints.
